Our Team
Lynn M. Phillips-Gaines, has been practicing financial planning since 1982 when she began work with a nationally known financial planning firm. Realizing the only way to assist her clients with their needs was to be independent, she formed her firm in 1984. She earned her bachelor`s degree from Mississippi State University and her master`s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner TM practitioner in 1987 and the designation of Certified Retirement Counselor in 1999. In September of 2005, Lynn received the "Investment Management Consultant" designation recognizing her competence in investment management theory and consulting practices. In August 2006, Lynn became Certified in Long Term Care Consulting. Currently, she is responsible for over 100 million in assets.
In 2001, she was recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of the top 50 Business Women in Mississippi. In 2002, she was named as finalist as Business Woman of the Year. Lynn was recognized in 1987 by Money Magazine as one of the best financial planners in the United States. She has served as one of the 18 members of the item-writer committee which formulates the questions for the CFP® examination administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, and she was recognized as one of Mississippi`s top 40 under 40 in business. In 2002, Lynn was a finalist as Top Business Woman in Mississippi.
Lynn has been active in the community, serving as past board member or officer of the Starkville Rotary Club, Business and Professional Women, MSU Oktibbeha County Alumna Association, and Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway Authority. Lynn also believes in "contributing to the world’s work in the community where I am placed, because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied,” by supporting the Oktibbeha County Humane Society, Mississippi State University, Alpha Gamma Delta, The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, and Starkville Area Habitat for Humanity.
THE PHILLIPS FINANCIAL TEAM:
June Rice, Client Services Manager, comes to us from North Yorkshire, UK, by way of San Antonio, Texas. She is in charge of all client service matters. She ensures decisions made in the client reveiw meeting are carried out and followed through.
Patricia Tate, Administrative Assistant, is responsible for client review preparation, investment research, financial planning prep, and organization of events. Patricia is the first person you will normally meet if you call or visit our office. Patricia is currently studying for the Certified ParaPlanner Designation.
Gloria (Rosey) Reeves - Saves the day. at a moments notice, by manning the phones when we are out of town. She also does more than her fair share of data management (filing), and helps on special projects.
